Aluminum has a low density and melting point (660 ºC). It has a face centered cubic structure, which gives it high plasticity (δ: 32-40%, ψ: 70-90%). It is easy to process and can be made into various profiles and plates with good corrosion resistance. By using aluminum alloy instead of steel plate material for welding, the structural weight can be reduced by more than 50%.
